LAPD clears suspicious package found near Mayor Garcetti's residence

HANCOCK PARK, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A Los Angeles police bomb squad was called to investigate a suspicious package left on the sidewalk near Mayor Garcetti's residence in Hancock Park Monday. It was later found to contain clothing.

The package was reported at Sixth Street and Irving Avenue at about 4:57 p.m.

Motorists were urged to avoid the area near Wilshire and Plymouth boulevards, Sixth Street and Irving Avenue for at least a few hours.

Officers cleared the package by 7:45 p.m.
