ANGELES NATIONAL FOREST (KABC) -- A hiker who went missing in the Angeles National Forest was found safe Tuesday morning.

Search and rescue crews located the 32-year-old man from Pasadena around 9 a.m. in one of the ridges of the Devil's Punchbowl area. He was able to walk out, but crews recommended that he be airlifted.

He called his mother late Monday night to say he was lost in the Islip Saddle area. He told her he was not hurt and does not have any medical injuries.

Officials said the man had his three dogs with him. It's unknown if the dogs were to be airlifted as well.
