Driver slams into fire hydrant, sends water gushing onto South Los Angeles streets

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A motorist slammed a car into a fire hydrant in South Los Angeles, sending water gushing onto the streets early Sunday morning.

Police say a woman somehow lost control of the vehicle around 2:45 a.m. and crashed into a fire hydrant at Broadway and Imperial.

There were no other vehicles involved in the incident.

Police do not suspect she was driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Fortunately, she was not injured.
