MALIBU, Calif. (KABC) -- Pacific Coast Highway has reopened after a mudslide north of Mugu Rock early Sunday morning.

California Highway Patrol received a call around 4 a.m. Sunday regarding a mudslide between Las Posas and Deer Creek roads. Caltrans crews used sweepers to clear the remaining dirt from the highway.

On Friday, authorities had reopened the final three miles of a nine-mile stretch of PCH north of Malibu that had been inundated with mud and rocks during December storms. In addition, high surf washed away slopes below some parts of the highway.
