VENTURA, Calif. (KABC) -- A Ventura man is accused of posting naked photos of his ex-girlfriend on a fake Craigslist ad as a form of "revenge porn."

Andrew Jacob Parkin, 23, was arrested on March 3 for distribution of private intimate photos following an investigation by the Ventura County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Bureau and the FBI.

Investigators say Parkin posted old photos of his ex-girlfriend from when she was 15 years old. His ex-girlfriend is now 19 years old.

Gov. Jerry Brown signed Senate Bill 255 into law in October, making "revenge porn" a misdemeanor offense. A person who is caught electronically distributing nude pictures in a sexual nature can be charged under the new law.

The photos must have been posted without permission of the victim, or with the intent to harass or humiliate them. Offenders can face up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.

Parkin is scheduled to be arraigned in Ventura County Superior Court on April 2.
