BIG BEAR LAKE, Calif. (KABC) -- Human remains were found in the debris of a house fire in Big Bear Lake Wednesday, San Bernardino County sheriff's deputies said.

Deputies from the Big Bear Sheriff's Station responded to a report of a house fire near Dream Street and Waynoka Lane at about 9:36 p.m. Tuesday.

The blaze quickly spread, causing the roof to collapse. Due to the dangerous conditions, investigators were unable to enter the property and search the house overnight.

Crews resumed their search Wednesday morning after the house was stabilized by special equipment and found the remains of a deceased male.

The victim has not been identified. His cause of death will be determined by the coroner's office.

Neighboring properties suffered minor to moderate damage, sheriff's deputies said.

The fire is currently under investigation. No injuries were reported.

Anyone with further information was urged to contact the Detective Bureau of the Big Bear Sheriff's Station at (909) 866-0100.
