Transient man fatally stabbed near Riverside railroad tracks

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (KABC) -- Riverside police were searching for a suspect involved in the stabbing death of a transient man near railroad tracks in Riverside.

The incident was reported at about 8:15 p.m. Friday near Pachappa Drive and Olivewood Avenue. Witnesses told police that the man had been stabbed. He died at the scene with stab wounds in the chest.

Authorities believe the victim and suspect were acquaintances and were walking together near the tracks before the violence broke out. The suspect then left the scene, police said.
