Man struck by stray bullet while playing basketball at San Bernardino school

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (KABC) -- An 18-year-old man was struck in the stomach by an apparent stray bullet while playing basketball at Shandin Hills Middle School in San Bernardino Sunday.

Shots were fired in the parking lot of Baker's Drive-Thru in the 1300 block of West Kendall Drive at about 5:30 p.m. The burger joint is located across the street from the school.

The victim was transported to a local hospital in serious but stable condition. San Bernardino police are reviewing surveillance video and looking for at least two suspects.

The San Bernardino County Unified School District is working with San Bernardino police during the investigation. Students are on spring break until March 30, the district said.
