PICO RIVERA, Calif. (KABC) -- A burglary suspect surrendered to police after an hours-long barricade inside an empty home in Pico Rivera Saturday.

Authorities said the call came in at 2:46 p.m. regarding a possibly armed suspect who had barricaded himself inside a home at Serapis Avenue and Terradell Street.

The two residents of the house arrived hours later to find their home surrounded by police. The homeowner told police the suspect is his grandson.

At one point two shots were fired, but no one was injured. The area was contained for several hours.

The suspect faces burglary charges and a possible charge for discharging a firearm, authorities said.
