Several detained in connection to fatal South El Monte stabbing

SOUTH EL MONTE, Calif. (KABC) -- Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies have detained several people in connection to the fatal stabbing of a man in South El Monte.

The stabbing occurred at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday in the 11200 block of Broadmead Avenue. The 49-year-old man suffered from a stab wound to the neck and was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

At about 12 p.m. Sunday, homicide detectives served a search warrant at a nearby home and detained several individuals after learning about evidence related to the killing. It was unclear what their involvement in the stabbing incident was.

No other details were immediately available.
