Redlands post office evacuated due to suspicious package

REDLANDS, Calif. (KABC) -- The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department evacuated a post office in Redlands Wednesday after an employee found a suspicious package, which at one point started smoking.

The incident occurred at the U.S. Post Office in the 400 block of New York Street.

An all clear was given shortly before 9:30 p.m. The package contained a seat belt retractor for a Lexus. No further details were immediately available.
