Silver Lake barricade suspect taken into custody

SILVER LAKE, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A suspect wanted for assault with a deadly weapon was taken into custody following an hours-long standoff in Silver Lake Saturday.

The victim reported the alleged assault with a deadly weapon at about 3:30 p.m. in the 3300 block of Hamilton Way.

SWAT officials and K9 units were called to the scene, and several businesses and residents were subsequently evacuated after the suspect barricaded himself inside a home.

Los Angeles police officers set up a perimeter in the area. The standoff ended peacefully at about 8:30 p.m.
