Pomona woman killed in hit-and-run crash; driver arrested

POMONA, Calif. (KABC) -- A 29-year-old man was arrested for allegedly fatally hitting a Pomona woman with his car and then fleeing the scene.

Christopher Acosta, of Ontario, struck 30-year-old Lindsey Ann Prieto, while she was crossing the street near Garey Avenue and Rio Rancho Road at about 8:30 p.m. Friday, Pomona police said.

Acosta is accused of driving off. Prieto died at the scene.

Witnesses described the car to 911 operators. That information led officers to Acosta's home, where they found the alleged car in question and arrested Acosta.

He was booked on suspicion of felony hit-and-run causing injury or death.
