SEAL BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- An alleged sexual predator was arrested Thursday after he lured a teenage girl into his car in Seal Beach, offered her alcohol and asked her to join him at his condominium, police said.

Michael Lux, 64, of Los Angeles was taken into custody on suspicion of child annoyance and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The Seal Beach Police Department was contacted by a citizen who reported seeing a suspicious older male, later identified as Lux, and a teenage girl sitting in a car together on May 24. Witnesses told police Lux approached the girl on the Seal Beach Pier and offered to give her a ride in his convertible.

The girl followed Lux to his car, where he offered her alcohol, displayed a large amount of cash and invited her to his condominium. That's when two witnesses intervened and told the girl to get out of his car.

Lux then became verbally confrontational with the bystanders and fled before police arrived.

Seal Beach police say the suspect is currently on federal probation for robbery, and also has an alleged history of sexual assaults and rape.

Lux was positively identified as the suspect involved in the incident in Seal Beach on May 24, and a warrant for his arrest was subsequently issued.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have been victimized by Lux was urged to contact the Seal Beach Police Department at (562) 799-4100.
