HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A man allegedly threatening himself and others with a knife on Wednesday in Hollywood has been shot by Los Angeles police.

Officers responded to a call at about 4:15 p.m. on Lexington Avenue between Orange Drive and Sycamore Avenue. The events that led up to the shooting were not immediately known.

The suspect was taken to a hospital. At 10 p.m., he was in stable condition.

Surrounding streets were shut down during the investigation.
