15-year-old fatally struck by vehicle in Huntington Beach

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- A 15-year-old girl from Long Beach was struck and killed by a vehicle in Huntington Beach Saturday night, police said.

The incident occurred near Pacific Coast Highway and Ecology Way at about 8:47 p.m.

Police say a 62-year-old man behind the wheel of a red Camaro struck the victim as she attempted to cross the road. Huntington Beach officers came upon the incident while driving down PCH and performed CPR on the victim until medical personnel arrived.

The victim was transported to Long Beach Memorial Hospital in critical condition, but later succumbed to her injuries.

The driver remained at the scene and was interviewed by officers before being released. So far, no arrests have been made.
