ARLETA, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Several small businesses were evacuated Sunday morning after a one-inch gas line was cut in the 8900 block of Woodman Avenue in Arleta.

About 20 people were evacuated from the businesses and no residential buildings were affected. Firefighters were dispatched to the scene at 11:17 a.m. to the area between Parthenia and Osborne streets. Traffic was diverted away from the area, and the Los Angeles Police Department assisted with evacuations.

Authorities say the gas line was damaged by a car. Crews worked to repair the line and the gas was shut off shortly before 1:30 p.m.
