Woman involved in Coffee Bean attack appears in court

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A woman charged with attacking a female tourist at a Santa Monica coffee shop appeared for her preliminary hearing at the Airport Courthouse Wednesday.

Sara Christine Rizo appeared before the judge and waived her right to a hearing. She was then ordered to return to court July 15.

Rizo is charged with criminal threats and battery with serious bodily injury. The victim said Rizo grabbed her hair and threw her to the ground before threatening to shoot her with a machine gun.

The victim was on vacation with her husband when she was attacked at the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf by Rizo.
