VENICE, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A man suffered minor injuries after being stung by a stingray at the Venice Beach Pier early Saturday morning.

Shortly after midnight, a fisherman on the pier had caught a stingray. He attempted to release the animal from his hook, but it stung his left hand.

The man could not feel his left arm or leg and felt pain in his chest, but refused to be transported to the hospital. Paramedics treated him for his injuries.
