ATHENS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- One person was killed in a three-car traffic collision that involved a fuel tanker truck early Sunday morning in Athens.

Authorities received the call about the collision at the intersection of El Segundo Boulevard and Figueroa Street around 2:40 a.m.

The driver of one of the cars was killed in the crash, but no one else involved sustained injuries. Authorities say the collision may have been caused when one of the drivers involved ran a red light.

All parties remained at the scene and cooperated with police during the investigation.
