RANCHO PALOS VERDES, Calif. (KABC) -- Several people have been detained in Rancho Palos Verdes as Los Angeles County sheriff's detectives conducted a homicide investigation.

Search warrants were served Monday morning at a house in the 2000 block of Van Karajan Drive.

Authorities say the body of 39-year-old Anthony Depiazza was found in Riverside County on Nov. 24. The victim has apparently lived at the Rancho Palos Verdes home with at least nine other people.

Nine people were taken into custody, including a 55-year-old man suspected in the killing, after an hours-long police standoff.

Officials said there were many complaints from neighbors about activities at the house.

Investigators believe the victim was killed in L.A. County, and then dumped in Riverside County.

Police said there was drug activity at the home. Officers searched the house for evidence.

Anyone with information about Depiazza's death is urged to call the L.A. County Sheriff's Department Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
