SIMI VALLEY, Calif. (KABC) -- Firefighters fully contained a nearly 200-acre brush fire Saturday that broke out on a Simi Valley hillside and threatened 500 homes.

The fire erupted in the 500 block of Rustic Hills Drive in the Wood Ranch neighborhood around 3:30 p.m. Friday. More than 150 firefighters from Ventura County, Los Angeles and Los Angeles City fire departments worked to contain the blaze.

During the firefight, a Los Angeles County firefighter and a Ventura County firefighter suffered minor injuries.

No structures were damaged or destroyed by the blaze, and firefighters will remain in the area for another day to mop up hot spots.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
