ANAHEIM, Calif. (KABC) -- A man suspected of driving under the influence crashed into a power pole in Anaheim Monday morning, triggering a power outage and closing part of the major roadway for several hours.

The crash occurred near Beach Boulevard and Ball Road at about 2:34 a.m.

The exact number of people and businesses affected by the outage was not immediately known.

The driver of the vehicle was transported to Long Beach Memorial Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, but is expected to be OK.

Beach Boulevard was expected to be closed between Ball Road and Starr Street for at least eight hours as crews worked to repair the downed power lines.
