Man wanted in hit-and-run that killed Bell teen comes forward

BELL, Calif. (KABC) -- A man wanted in a hit-and-run that killed a teen skateboarder in the City of Bell came forward Wednesday, police said.

Bell police were searching for 36-year-old Charles Garcia to question him in the crash that killed 17-year-old Joshua Maldonado near Gage and Bear avenues on Aug. 29.

Garcia surrendered at the Bell Police Department around noon and was arrested. A city official said Garcia has previous DUI arrests.
