Adelanto man killed in accidental gun discharge; 17-year-old boy arrested

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (KABC) -- A 17-year-old boy was arrested after authorities say he accidentally discharged a weapon, killing a man inside the same Victorville residence.

San Bernardino County sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a shooting at a residence in the 13000 block of Bennington Drive around 8:49 p.m. Thursday night and found the body of Ronald McKinzie.

McKinzie, 18, of Adelanto had suffered a gunshot wound to his upper body. His body was found in a bedroom of the residence, authorities said.

Investigators arrested the juvenile for negligent discharge of a firearm, resulting in death.
