ANAHEIM, Calif. (KABC) -- A traffic stop in Anaheim led to the discovery of a stabbing victim on Wednesday.

Police say officers stopped the car at Loara Street and Lincoln Avenue for erratic driving around 8:40 a.m. when they found that the passenger had been stabbed. The driver was apparently trying to get the passenger to the hospital.

Paramedics responded and rushed the victim to an area hospital, where the victim died.

The investigation brought officers to a home in the 1500 block of Edithia Avenue. Several people were detained, but they were not considered suspects, police said.

SWAT officers went door to door in the neighborhood to talk to residents as part of a "safety sweep."

No further information was immediately available.
