LA MIRADA, Calif. (KABC) -- An armed woman was taken into custody after an hours-long standoff with sheriff's deputies in La Mirada.

The incident started shortly before 10 p.m. Monday following a call about a domestic dispute between a husband and wife in the 15200 block of Borda Road.

Sheriff's SWAT officials surrounded the home, helicopters flew overhead and a crisis negotiation team was called in.

Surrounding residents were temporarily evacuated from their homes.

Officials said the woman's husband was not inside the home, so there was no indication the incident was a hostage situation.

SWAT members entered the home and took the woman into custody at around 4 a.m. The woman did not sustain any serious injuries.
