Barricade suspect surrenders after Chino Hills fatal shooting

CHINO HILLS, Calif. (KABC) -- A SWAT team responded to a home in Chino Hills where a suspect barricaded himself inside after a fatal shooting, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies who responded to a shooting report in the 4300 block of Val Verde Avenue found a male's body in the backyard of a home. They said a suspect was barricaded inside the house.

Nearby residents were evacuated while others were told to shelter in place.

After several hours, the standoff ended when deputies said the suspect surrendered and was taken into custody without incident.
