RIVERSIDE, Calif. (KABC) -- A thief known as the "Bridal Bandit" showed little remorse when she was sentenced to seven years behind bars in San Diego on Friday.

Denise Gunderson, also known as Denise Burns, preyed on people at weddings in the San Diego area, stealing purses and wallets from guests, bridesmaids and even brides. She was caught on surveillance video using their credit cards on a shopping spree.

"There is a greater chance that you will reoffend because you are not truly sorry for what you did," Judge Polly Shamoon said to Gunderson in the courtroom.

Officials said Gunderson also crashed a few weddings in Riverside County in 2014 and 2015. Authorities said she took the victims' credit cards while people, including the wedding party, were on the dance floor.

"We need to get justice for the victims in our county," said John Hall with the Riverside County District Attorney's Office. "Ultimately, we expect that she'll be transported here from San Diego County."

Gunderson has a standing invitation in a Riverside courtroom and is facing 11 felony counts ranging from burglary to grand theft.
