Cal Lutheran student recounts bombings outside Paris stadium

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The sounds of suicide bombers detonating their vests outside the Paris soccer stadium still echo in Bruno Sajar's mind.

"We didn't' know that something very big was occurring until, I believe, the third explosion ended up coming off. That was when everyone just started to disburse, just running for their lives," he said.

The California Lutheran University Student was in his third month of studying abroad when the deadly terrorist attacks occurred. He returned to California Wednesday night from the city.

He said leaving the stadium and returning to his Paris apartment right after the attacks was terrifying.

"I didn't know if there were shootings. I didn't know if there was bombings. People were crying within the metro. People didn't know what was going on," he said.

Sajar cut his short by a month and said the uneasiness of life in the city after the attacks, coupled with calls from his mother to come home, made his decision feel right.

In the streets of New York City, security was tight. A new video released by ISIS mentioned the city, while touting the deadly attacks in Paris.

NYPD Police Commissioner William Bratton said the video looks like one released on April 14. The department insists it knows of no specific or credible threat.

"We cannot be intimidated and that's what terrorists seek to do. They seek to create fear, they seek to intimidate. We will not be intimidated, and we will not live in fear," he said.

Meanwhile, the pre-dawn raids in a Paris suburb netted several terrorist suspects, leaving two of them dead.

On Wednesday night, officials used DNA to see if one of the dead is Abdelhamid Abaaoud, who is the suspected mastermind behind Friday's attacks.

Prosecutors also found evidence of another terrorist plot in the works during the raids.
