Car slams into Bel Air house, causes gas leak concern
A car crashed into a home in Bel Air Wednesday morning, and officials were concerned about a possible gas leak caused by the wreck.

BEL AIR, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A car crashed into a home in Bel Air Wednesday morning, and officials were concerned about a gas leak caused by the wreck.

Authorities responded to the scene at about 5 a.m. in the 2200 block of Roscomare Road. An SUV smashed into the wall of the home, hitting the gas meter and causing a leak.

Neighbors heard the commotion, but were unsure of what happened.

"I thought it hit my brother's room. But it turns out it didn't, it hit the gas, which is kind of not worse, but still the same impact," resident Ava Wasserstein said.

Los Angeles City Fire Department officials said the driver of the SUV was taken to a local hospital, but his condition was not released.

The investigation into the cause of the crash was ongoing.
