SHERMAN OAKS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Good Samaritans and undercover police officers helped Los Angeles police officers take down a chase suspect in Sherman Oaks Wednesday night.

A short car chase started near Tampa Avenue and the 101 Freeway. The suspect was wanted for reckless driving and possible theft from a motor vehicle, according to the LAPD Topanga Division.

During the chase, the suspect reached speeds of 110 miles per hour. The suspect entered the 405 Freeway for a short time before exiting at Ventura Boulevard in Sherman Oaks.

He stopped by the Courtyard Marriott Hotel located off Ventura Boulevard and led officers on a short foot chase before a group of undercover police officers and two Good Samaritans jumped in to help and took him down.
