MORENO VALLEY, Calif. (KABC) -- A car smashed through a home in Moreno Valley, landing in the living room Wednesday night. The couple inside was lucky to survive.

Around 10:45 p.m., the driver crashed through a fence and then barreled through a home in the 22800 block of Pahute Drive. Authorities said after the driver went through the home with their car, the person fled the scene.

Authorities located and arrested the driver, identified as 31-year-old Daniel Omar Henderson, a short time later. He was booked on suspicion of a hit-and-run resulting in property damage, violating parole, and resisting arrest.

The couple in the home were able to escape without any injuries. Neighbors said the two people living in the home were able to pack up items and leave after the crash.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.
