SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (KABC) -- Police are searching for a man accused of crashing his car into a San Bernardino hotel Friday night and running off.

According to San Bernardino police, the man was driving southbound in the Leisure Inn and Suites parking lot, located in the 700 block of W. 6th Street, around 11 p.m. He accelerated and crashed into the building and into a hotel room.

At least two people were inside the room, and one person suffered minor injuries, police said.

Authorities said the suspect quickly fled the scene after the crash.

Norma Wilt, a hotel guest in the room above, said the impact felt like an earthquake.

"I didn't know it was a car. I just heard a big...I knew it had to be something...all I heard was 'shhh,' - water was coming out of the receptacle," she said.

Police believe the suspected driver is hurt.

It is unknown whether speed or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
