Drone hits West Hollywood power lines, causes power outage
A drone flew into power lines, causing a power outage in West Hollywood on Monday, Oct. 26, 2015.

WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (KABC) -- A man flew a drone into power lines, causing a power outage in West Hollywood on Monday.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said they received several 911 calls stating a man flew a drone into the power lines off of Sunset Boulevard.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department said the calls came in at about 1:15 p.m.

Crews with Southern California Edison restored power to businesses near Sunset Boulevard and Larrabee Street.

SoCal Edison said 647 customers were without power. Power has since been restored to all customers.

The fire department closed two westbound lanes of Sunset Boulevard due to the incident.
