Fatal crash temporarily closes NB 5 Fwy in Glendale

GLENDALE, Calif. (KABC) -- The northbound 5 Freeway was closed near Western Avenue in Glendale for over five hours Friday morning due to a fatal multi-vehicle crash.

The connector to the westbound 134 Freeway was also temporarily closed.

Traffic on the northbound 5 Freeway was diverted to the 134 Freeway, authorities said.

The SigAlert was cleared around 10:30 a.m. and all lanes were reopened.

A weather system brought showers to Southern California Friday morning, but the rainfall was scattered and mostly light.

No further information on the crash was immediately available.
