FONTANA, Calif. (KABC) -- Police responded to the Kaiser Permanente Fontana Medical Center on reports of an active shooter Thursday evening, but said the reports were unfounded.

Fontana police surrounded the hospital located in the 9900 block of Sierra Avenue at about 10:30 p.m.

The hospital was placed on lockdown while authorities searched all the buildings on the property.

Authorities gave the all clear for the hospital around midnight.
