Golden West College library in Huntington Beach cleared after bomb scare

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- A bomb squad from the Orange County Sheriff's Department cleared the scene after an alleged bomb threat was made on a chatroom of the library at Golden West College in Huntington Beach Tuesday afternoon.

A bomb squad with the Huntington Beach Police Department was called to the college in the 15000 block of Goldenwest Street to investigate, where students were forced to evacuate.

At around 1:30 p.m., Huntington Beach police said nothing suspicious was found inside after a bomb squad dog went through the library.

Authorities said because the threat was made via the internet, detectives will follow up on the IP address to track where it came from.
