Hesperia mother, roommate arrested in 8-month-old baby's death

HESPERIA, Calif. (KABC) -- A 29-year-old mother and her roommate were arrested in the death of an 8-month-old baby in Hesperia, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department.

Hesperia police responded to a 911 call of a baby not breathing at a home in the 18100 block of Westlawn Street at about 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.

The infant boy was determined dead at the scene, according to coroner officials.

Deputies spoke to the baby's mother, Terra Frederick, and her roommate, 22-year-old Keli'l Boiser, and based on statements and evidence at the scene, detectives called for homicide and Crimes Against Children investigators to conduct an investigation.

Frederick and Boiser were subsequently arrested Sunday and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for willful cruelty to a child causing death.
