Crews prepping Altadena catch basin for El Nino find human bone

Crews cleaning out a catch basin in Altadena to prepare for El Nino discovered a human femur bone Sunday night.

The coroner's office said on Monday that public works crews were prepping a catch basin ahead of El Nino rain when they made the grisly discovery.

The bone was found at about 7 p.m. near the 2800 block of Tanoble Drive, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Sheriff's homicide detectives, crime lab personnel and a coroner's team responded to the scene on Monday to search for other possible remains.
