Human remains found near 10 Freeway on-ramp in Claremont

CLAREMONT, Calif. (KABC) -- Crews cleaning the roadways discovered human remains near an on-ramp of the 10 Freeway in Claremont, police said.

Caltrans workers made the discovery Monday shortly before 12:30 p.m. near the eastbound on-ramp at Indian Hill Boulevard.

California Highway Patrol called Claremont police, who requested the help of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department crime scene investigators.

The remains were removed from the scene by Los Angeles County coroner's officials, who will try to determine the identity of the person and the cause of death.
