Hydrant crash sends water shooting up to powerlines in Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A car crashed into a fire hydrant in Hollywood on Sunday, sending water gushing up and onto the street.

Water was seen shooting all the way up to adjacent power lines at the site of the crash around 5:40 a.m. at Franklin and Van Ness avenues.

Los Angeles police said officers gave children at the scene blankets after they got soaked.

Information on injuries was not available. The cause of the crash was under investigation.
