Increase in coyote attacks prompts warning for Ventura pet owners

Ventura County Animal Services and authorities are warning residents in Ventura to keep their pets indoors after an increase in coyote attacks against cats.

The attacks have happened mostly in a neighborhood east of Victoria Avenue and south of Highway 126 near Saticoy Avenue.

Authorities said the wild animals are wandering into neighborhoods looking for food and water because of the drought.
