Kohl's is closing seven Southern California stores and a total of nine throughout the state, according to a press release Monday.

The Southern California store closures will be happening in Arcadia, Cypress, Ladera Ranch, Mira Mesa, Rancho Cordova, Santa Ana, San Jose East, Upland and West Hills.

All nine statewide stores will be shutting down as of June 19.

Last month, the retailer announced it was closing 18 underperforming stores this year.

Every Kohl's location employs 80 to 100 associates. Eligible employees at the closing locations will be given the chance to work at a nearby Kohl's store, or they can choose a severance package.
