CANYON COUNTRY, SANTA CLARITA (KABC) -- Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives are investigating the death of a man found in the trunk of a Honda Accord on the side of a road in Canyon Country Sunday.
Around 9:30 a.m., a Santa Clarita Sheriff's Station deputy was on routine patrol when he saw a blue Honda Accord illegally parked on the shoulder by Golden Valley Road and Robert C. Lee Parkway.
The deputy stopped to conduct an investigation of the abandoned car and discovered the man's body. Authorities say the cause of the man's death is unknown.
It is unclear how long the car had been parked on the road, but witnesses said they saw the car parked there overnight.
The body remained in the car and the vehicle was towed to the coroner's office as part of the investigation. An autopsy will be performed on the body.
