MALIBU, Calif. (KABC) -- A portion of a beach in Malibu was shut down Saturday after about 500 gallons of diluted sewage spilled into the ocean.

Authorities closed the area 100 yards on each side of the 31500 block of Victoria Point in Malibu. The area does not have a sandy beach or direct public access during high tide.

Malibu city officials said the water will be sampled on Monday after a rain advisory is lifted.

No other information was immediately available.
