Rossmoor man arrested for shooting step-grandkids
A man was arrested Thursday night, accused of shooting his own step-grandchildren in Rossmoor.

ROSSMOOR, Calif. (KABC) -- A 72-year-old man was arrested for attempted murder after allegedly shooting two of his step-grandchildren at a Rossmoor home.

Authorities responded to the residence in the 2800 block of Tucker Lane at 8:25 p.m. Thursday. A 22-year-old woman had been shot in the head, and her 20-year-old brother had been shot in the wrist, according to the Orange County Fire Authority.

Both victims were rushed to Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, where the woman remains in serious condition with life-threatening injuries. The male victim was treated and released from the hospital.

Michael Molle of Rossmoor was taken into custody at the scene, and a handgun was recovered. Investigators say the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute, but did not disclose any further details.

Molle is being held on $500,000 bail and is expected to appear in court on Monday.

The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call the Orange County Sheriff's Department at (714) 647-7044 or (714) 647-7000.
