Man dies after being found stabbed outside Wal-Mart in Santa Ana

SANTA ANA, Calif. (KABC) -- A man died after being found suffering from multiple stab wounds early Sunday morning outside a Wal-Mart in Santa Ana, authorities said.

A Wal-Mart security guard discovered the unidentified victim at about 2:45 a.m. in a loading area behind the store in the 3600 block of McFadden Avenue, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.

Authorities were notified and officers responded to the scene, a news release said. The man, described as a possible transient in his late 20s or early 30s, was transported to UC Irvine Medical Center and underwent emergency surgery.

He subsequently died of his injuries, police said.

There was no known motive for the killing, according to detectives, and no details about the suspect were available.
