LASD investigating man found shot inside burning truck in Rosemead

ROSEMEAD, Calif. (KABC) -- Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department homicide detectives are investigating the death of a man found with a gunshot wound inside a burning pick-up truck in Rosemead.

Around 5:49 a.m. Saturday, deputies at the Temple Station received reports of a car on fire in the 8500 block of Onley Street.

When deputies arrived, they found a pick-up truck engulfed in flames. Once the fire was extinguished, a man was found in the front seat. Deputies pulled the man out of the car and noticed a gunshot wound to his upper torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide and arson/explosive detectives are investigating the scene. A gun was found in the car during the initial investigation.

Authorities are not actively looking for any suspects. The man's identity has not been released. No further information was immediately available.
