Man gunned down in Compton Arco station; suspect sought

COMPTON, Calif. (KABC) -- Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies are investigating Sunday the shooting death of a man at an Arco station in Compton.

LASD homicide detectives and Compton Station officials responded to the call of a shooting in the 2800 block of E. Alondra Boulevard at about 10:18 p.m. Saturday night.

When they arrived, they found the 46-year-old victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported by paramedics to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses told deputies the victim was at the counter when a male suspect walked up behind him and shot him multiple times.

During the shooting, the suspect ran westbound from the store and out of view, according to a press release issued by the LASD.
